Doing our bit - #PassItOnLeicester

Every 20 minutes in the UK someone finds out they have blood cancer. But there are ways we can help save these peoples lives.  Every day throughout September there are events taking place all over Leicester to encourage people to sign up to the Anthony Nolan register and provide a saliva sample.

We are proud to be supporting the Rik Basra Leukaemia Campaign through Fosse Business Breakfast Club, and have produced a banner to help promote the event on Monday 21st September at the City Rooms in the Town Centre between 8am and 2pm. If you’re aged between 16 and 30 please come along and sign up, it’ll take just 15 minutes and really could potentially save lives.

To join the register all you’ll need to do is spare 15 minutes to provide a saliva sample by simply spitting into a tube. If you are a match for someone, which is a 1 in 250,000 chance, a stem cell transplant will take place. This is a very similar process to giving blood.

Join the event on Facebook and we hope to see you on the day.

We’re also partaking in a 10 mile charity walk in the Peak District on Saturday 26th September to raise vital funds for the campaign. To donate please visit our fundraising page here:
